Review before steel is cut

Every enquiry starts with a design-for-manufacture conversation, so problems are solved on screen rather than in the toolroom.

Drawing-led precision

We work to your revision, datums and tolerances. Critical features are discussed openly before we commit to them.

Talk to the engineer

Direct access to the founder and the people planning your job. No call centres, no hand-offs.

Confidential by default

NDA available on request. Drawings are shared only with the people working on your project.

How we work

From drawing to delivered tool.

A clear, five-stage process. You always know what has been agreed, what is happening and what comes next.

  1. STAGE 01

    Enquiry & drawings

Share your 2D drawing or 3D model with the material, annual volume and target date. A sample or photos are fine to begin.

  2. STAGE 02

    Engineering review

We review draft, wall sections, parting line, gating, cooling, ejection and critical dimensions before anything is quoted.

  3. STAGE 03

    Scope & quotation

A clear scope covering steel, cavitation, inclusions, inspection criteria, timeline and commercial terms.

  4. STAGE 04

    Design & manufacture

CAD/CAM planning, CNC/VMC machining, fitting and assembly, with progress updates at agreed milestones.

  5. STAGE 05

    Inspection & handover

Checks against the agreed acceptance criteria, trial support where in scope, and a documented handover.

Materials & mould types

Specified for the job, not the catalogue.

Steel selection depends on resin, volume, finish and budget. These are the grades most often specified for the tools and components we discuss.

P20 / 718H
Pre-hardened mould steels for cavities, cores and plates
H13 / 1.2344
Hot-work steel for inserts and demanding tooling
NAK80
Pre-hardened steel suited to high-polish surfaces
S136 / 420 SS
Corrosion-resistant steel for clean or corrosive resins
EN8 / EN24 / EN31
Engineering steels for mould components and machine parts
Aluminium 6061 / 7075
Prototype tools, fixtures and lightweight components

Final material, heat treatment and configuration are agreed for each project.

Industries

Built for the parts that go into everything.

Tooling and components for manufacturers across Maharashtra and beyond. All industries

Automotive & two-wheeler

Trims, clips, housings, brackets and under-bonnet parts where fit, repeatability and drawing revision control matter.

Electrical & switchgear

Switch plates, enclosures, terminal blocks and insulating components that need clean form and consistent assembly fit.

Home appliances

Covers, knobs, panels and internal plastic parts for kitchen, cooling and laundry appliances.

Packaging & closures

Caps, closures, containers and dispensing parts, where cavitation and cycle considerations shape the tool.

Consumer & lifestyle products

Visible, cosmetic components where surface finish, parting-line position and gate marks are part of the design.

Industrial & engineering

Fixtures, jigs, machine parts and toolroom components machined to drawing for manufacturers and toolrooms.

Leadership

Talk to the engineer who plans your tool.

“A mould is only as good as the decisions made before the first cut. We take time to understand your part, so the tool works the way your production needs it to.”

Er. Firoz Alam founded SMK Mould Tech Engineers in Vasai East to bring careful, drawing-led engineering to mould making and precision machining. Every enquiry is reviewed personally, from the first drawing to the finished component.

FAQ

How enquiries, drawings, pricing and confidentiality work at SMK.

Still have a question?

Speak directly with our engineering team.

Contact us
What should I send for a quotation?

Share your drawing or CAD model, material, quantity and required delivery date. Identify critical tolerances, finish requirements and the latest drawing revision. If you only have a sample, contact us to discuss the next step.

Can I share technical drawings on WhatsApp?

Yes. Start with the quote form to prepare your project brief, then attach your drawing as a document in WhatsApp. STEP, IGES, DWG, DXF and PDF requirements can be discussed with the team.

Do you handle both new tooling and repairs?

Our services include new mould design and manufacturing, mould components, CNC/VMC machining, and mould repair or modification. Each enquiry is assessed against its drawings and requirements.

How are price and delivery confirmed?

Price and delivery depend on geometry, material, manufacturing operations, quantity and current availability. The team confirms the scope and commercial terms after reviewing the requirement.

Can we discuss confidentiality before sharing a design?

Yes. Contact Er. Firoz Alam to discuss confidentiality or an NDA before sending sensitive drawings. Start with a non-confidential description of the project.
